Ranching starts with Pastelle at Green Pasture Ranch. She mails you on Summer 4. Animals produce goods for cooking and crafting. Breeding is simple on paper: a male and a female of the same species in one building with a free stall. The female produces offspring.

The Animals wiki page is a Lua table we could not extract, so there is no honest full species list here. “All livestock” and “crossbreeding” searches are ahead of the public docs. If you came from a Stardew cross-breed guide, assume Starsand is same-species only until a patch note says otherwise.
