Does Starsand Island have multiplayer?

Yes. Version 1.0 adds online multiplayer for up to 4 players using a host-island system. Progress is not shared.

Is there crossplay?

No. Official 1.0 notes say cross-platform multiplayer is not supported. The studio is looking into it.

Should I start a new save for 1.0?

Not required for 3-heart stories — official news says existing 3-heart saves unlock the new stories. Start fresh only if you want the full intro again.

How do I unlock multiplayer?

It is locked behind early Island Life / profession progress, not available on a brand-new file. Community reports point to Island Life tasks; the official site posted a step-by-step unlock guide.

How do I expand my farm?

Unlock the Buy Land phone app at Island Life rank Junior Talent, then buy Hopeland plots with Coins and Starsand.

Can friends build on my island?

Only if the host turns those permissions on. Hosts can lock crops, livestock, fishing, crafting, and other resources separately.

Is the Switch 2 version good?

Launch-week streams report heavy pop-in, long loads, and a broken skateboard. Two patches were already in Nintendo review. PC is the safer buy today.

How many romanceable characters are there?

Official 1.0 notes say 14 romanceable NPCs. The community wiki lists 15 names — we flag the mismatch instead of guessing which one is extra.

Do I have to pick only one profession?

No. You can work all five (Farmer, Rancher, Crafter, Angler, Explorer) together. Solara often recommends Crafter first.
